16 Hours NCPPSB Unarmed Guard Course (2 Day Course)

NC Unarmed Guard Training Certification This course requires 16 total hours of mandatory attendance across two consecutive days. Participants must attend from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the first scheduled date and return the following day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to complete the program. Course Overview This 16-hour course mandated by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board equips security professionals with essential knowledge and skills for their role. The curriculum thoroughly covers patrol procedures, emergency response protocols, communication techniques, report writing, and note-taking methods. A significant portion focuses on legal knowledge that establishes clear boundaries for security operations within North Carolina. The training builds competence progressively, with the first four hours devoted to critical legal foundations and understanding the security guard's role in North Carolina. The remaining hours develop practical skills through detailed instruction on documentation practices, threat assessment, emergency management, and professional conduct standards. The course ensures security professionals understand their responsibilities and limitations, proper documentation requirements, and appropriate response protocols while adhering to ethical standards that protect client interests and public safety. Completion Course (12 Hours) Unarmed Guard

12 hours · Live virtual· $110 per student

You must have already completed the 4-Hour Pre-Duty session to enroll. This course is the second part of the 16-hour certification, not a standalone class. These 12 hours cover Emergency Response, Patrol Procedures, Communications, Note Taking and Report Writing, and Professional Conduct. Building on the legal foundation from your pre-duty session, this course develops the practical skills you need to perform your duties safely and professionally. Completing this course fulfills the full 16-hour training requirement set by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board. All 16 hours must be complete within 30 days of permanent hire. First 4 Hours NC Unarmed Guard Training (Pre-Duty Requirement)

4 hours · Live virtual· $75 per student

North Carolina requires 4 hours of training before you can be placed at a duty station. This session makes you eligible to start work. It covers The Security Officer in North Carolina (1 hour) and Legal Issues for Security Officers (3 hours). You'll still need 12 more hours to be certified. Book the 12-Hour Completion Course ($110) as soon as your schedule allows — don't wait. All 16 hours must be complete within 30 days of permanent hire.
