Catherine Flowers is the Director of Training for PI Leadership Academy and Security Compliance Academy, where she develops and teaches board-approved continuing education for private investigators and security professionals across nine states. A Retired Raleigh Police Officer and former Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps, Catherine brings more than 27 years of field experience to the classroom. She is a North Carolina licensed private investigator and owner of Cat's Eye Private Investigations, a Raleigh firm with more than 200 five-star client reviews. Her instructor credentials include North Carolina Close Protection (CPP) instructor and Defense Technology OC Aerosol Instructor certifications, along with security guard instructor credentials in Georgia (armed) and unarmed guard instructor credentials in Florida, Tennessee, New York, and the Colorado cities of Denver and Pueblo. How many continuing education hours does this course provide?

This course provides 26hours of continuing education credit approved by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (PPSB) and the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies. Credits may be accepted by other state licensing boards.

Is this course offered online or in a virtual classroom?

The course is available both online and as live virtual classroom sessions. Online students can complete the course at their own pace, while live sessions include real-time interaction with instructors and other participants.

Do I need prior courtroom experience to take this course?

No prior courtroom testimony experience is required. This is a foundational course designed for private investigators at all experience levels, from new licensees to experienced professionals.

What is your cancellation policy for live instruction?

For a Live Virtual Course, Students must cancel their enrollment at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled course start time to receive a full refund or reschedule the course. This policy is in place because we often schedule small classes, sometimes with only one student, and cancellations impact preparation and scheduling.

What happens if I cancel within 24 hours of the course?

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the live virtual course start time are non-refundable. However, we can work with you to reschedule your training for a future session, depending on availability.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes, all participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion that can be submitted to your state licensing board for continuing education credit.

What if the course is canceled by the instructor?

If we must cancel the course for any reason, you will be notified as soon as possible and offered a full refund or the option to reschedule for a later date.

How soon will I get my certificate after completing the course?

You will receive your certificate of instruction immediately after successfully completing the course, whether it's live or on-demand. For live courses, certificates are provided on the same day upon course completion.
